Praying through John 10:12

Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus is the Good and Great Shepherd of the sheep and that He has brought me into his extended sheepfold and died so that I might live. Keep me ever mindful that there are hired hands who are not true pastors, and teachers who deliberately deceive the people of God or misguidedly lead your people astray because they lack sound, scriptural understanding. I pray that I would increase in my knowledge and understanding of Scripture, so that I will not be hoodwinked by a wolf in sheep's clothing or led astray by unbiblical teachings. Keep me looking to Jesus and help me to grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

“But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.”
(John 10:12)

Praying through John 10:18

Dear Lord, how I praise and thank You that You sent Jesus to pay the price for my sins, to give me eternal life. How I worship my Saviour that He was not forced into laying down His life, for He was too powerful to be forced, but He did this willingly for me. Thank You that in His power, He rose from the dead so that I might live in newness of life in Him. Praise You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.”

Praying through John 10:28

Loving Father, there have been times when I have questioned my eternal security in You, but You are my Good and faithful Shepherd Whose Word is to be trusted forever. Thank You that I am held so securely in the hands of my Lord and my Saviour, my God and my King, that nothing can separate me from Your wonderful presence. Thank You for my gift of eternal life and for the promise that nothing can snatch me from Your hand and no-one can separate me from Your gracious love. Praying through John 10:30

Heavenly Father, thank You for this glorious truth that Christ spoke, that He and His Father are one. Thank You that in His humanity, Jesus demonstrated how I may live as You intend all Your children to live, in total dependence, joyful obedience, and full submission to the Father's will. May I follow Christ's example, until like the apostle Paul, I may say, "It is not I that live in this body, but Christ Who lives in me." In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“I and my Father are one.”

Praying through John 10:34

Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus is one with You in nature, character, will, authority, and power... for only He is good enough to pay the price for my sin. Thank You that He is the incarnate God Who became the Son of Man, so that He could die on the Cross for the sin of the world. More and more I see how truly offensive the exclusivity of the Gospel is to those who do not believe. Thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit to convict me of my sin, of righteousness, and of judgement. Thank You that by faith in Him, I have been transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of Your dear Son. Open the eyes of those who have been blinded by Satan, so that they too may see the truth and turn to the Lord Jesus for the forgiveness of sin, in Whom are the words of eternal life. This I ask in Jesus' precious name, AMEN.

“Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?”

Praying through John 10:36

Heavenly Father, thank You that You are such a gracious God that despite our arrogance, foolishness, rebellion, and sin, You sent Jesus into the world to be our Kinsman-Redeemer, and that He willingly laid aside His heavenly glory to become our Saviour and to die on the Cross in our place. I pray that in the days ahead I would come to know Him more and to love Him better, for He alone deserves all honour and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
