Prayer for Zephaniah 1

Choose Verse

Heavenly Father, thank You for the inspired scriptures which are living; powerful and cannot be broken. Thank You for the prophecies of holy men of God, life Zephaniah, who has warned us of the wrath to come. Thank You for providing a way of to be saved - through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I praise You that Your plan of redemption will finally come to fruition and all believing Israel will be redeemed and restored for Your greater honour and glory. Help me not to become complacent about the wrath that is to come on this God-hating, Christ-rejecting sinful world.. but to share the good news of the gospel of grace, with as many as I can... so that men and women may be plucked from the brands. This I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

“I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the LORD.”

Heavenly Father, Your plans and purposes for humanity are amazing and we praise and thank You, that You did not leave us dead in our sins and enslaved to Satan in his despotic 'day'. Thank You, that You saved me from my sin by sending Jesus to be punished in my place and that He rose again to give me His life. Thank You that the wrath of God, which I justly deserve, was poured out on Christ instead of me. Open the eyes of many who remain lost in their sin and under God's condemnation.. while there is still time to escape the dreadful wrath that is to come - and we pray this in Jesus name, AMEN

“That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,”

Heavenly Father, what a gracious God You are and full of mercy, for although Your people broke their covenant, rebelled against You and become an idolatrous nation, You purposed in Your heart to fulfil all the promises You made to their fathers in the wilderness. Thank You that You are not only a God of love and mercy but also a God of justice, judgement and a consuming fire, Who will one day rid this fallen world of all the evil that has been perpetrated against You and against Your people. Thank You that in wrath You have promised to remember mercy and that Your goodness and grace is new every morning. Great is Your faithfulness and we love You Lord, in Jesus name we pray, AMEN.

“Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD'S wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.”
