Praying through Psalm 56:1

Heavenly Father, what a joy it is to read through the book of Psalms and discover the jewels of encouragement and the gems of hope. Lord, You know those who are against me, especially those who are dead in sin, at enmity with You and in need of salvation. Father, I thank You that You are my God, and I trust You to bring me through the trials and temptations I am facing today, and pray that You would use me as a testimony of Your great goodness and grace. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“{To the chief Musician upon Jonathelemrechokim, Michtam of David, when the Philistines took him in Gath.} Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.”
(Psalm 56:1)

Praying through Psalm 56:4

Thank You, Father, that You are the Lord my God in Whom I have placed my trust. Thank You for the bold declarations of David, whose trust in You was reflected in the courageous words he spoke. Thank You that there is nothing to fear from any man, nor from Satan's demonic hosts, for You have promised to keep us safe from all the evils and from those that oppose us. Like David, I proclaim in Jesus' name, "I shall not be afraid of what mere man can do to me, for in You O God have I put my trust". Praise Your holy name, AMEN.

“In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.”
(Psalm 56:4)

Praying through Psalm 56:8

Father God, thank You for Your compassionate mercy toward me. Thank You that You care so deeply about everything that causes me pain, that You have put my tears in a bottle. Thank You that You know so intimately about everything that causes my tears and that in You, I can find my true source of comfort. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?”
