Praying through Psalm 40:1

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your precious promises to me and to all men, and thank You for Christ my Kinsman-Redeemer. Thank You for His perfect example of patience. Thank You for His long-suffering as He hung on the Cross and slept in the tomb, waiting for the Resurrection of His body. Thank You that having been forgiven of my sins, I too have no fear of death and hell. Give me patience to endure to the end, to Your praise and glory. This I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“{To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.} I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.”

Praying through Psalm 40:2

Heavenly Father, thank You that there is no pit of destruction so deep and no miry clay so oppressive, that Your hand of blessing and encouragement is not able to reach down, raise me up, and set my feet upon the Rock of my salvation. Help me to wait patiently for You to act on my behalf. Let me never doubt Your Word to heal or Your will to save. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.”
(Psalm 40:2)

Praying through Psalm 40:3

Heavenly Father, thank You for all You have done in my life, all You are doing, and for the many precious promises that I see being fulfilled as I journey through this troublesome world. Help me bring all my cares and concerns to You in never-ceasing prayers and intercessions, and help me to wait patiently for You to act on my behalf. Keep me ever rejoicing in Your ongoing mercy and grace, and to sing new songs of praise and thanksgiving for Your manifold goodness and grace. I pray that my life may be a testimony to others of Your never-failing mercies and bring many more to faith in You, as they witness You working in the lives of Your servants. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.”
(Psalm 40:3)
