Praying through Psalm 27:1

Dear Heavenly Father, You are my sufficiency and strength, my light and my life, my all in all. I pray that when dark clouds of unknowing loom across my heart, that I immediately call to mind the wonderful truth of Who You really are. May I rest in the wonderful security and eternal salvation I have in Christ, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

“{A Psalm of David.} The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Praying through Psalm 27:11

Father God, please teach me Your ways, and guide me along the best path for my life, for without You my feet would slip. I will give You all the praise and the glory, all my days. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.”

Praying through Psalm 27:13

Heavenly Father, what a wonderfully faithful God You are, to all who trust in Your name. Thank You for the example of David, who reminds me that Your goodness and mercy lasts from generation to generation, and that all You have promised in Your Word is true and sure. I pray that I may be a, "man after God’s own heart", who maintains my trust in You, despite the difficult circumstances that I am facing. I know that in Your goodness, You will provide for me and protect me as You have promised. In Jesus’ name, AMEN.

I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.”
(Psalm 27:13)

Praying through Psalm 27:14

Heavenly Father, too often my old sin nature calls on me to take hold of the reins of my life instead of abiding in You and resting in Your promises. Help me to learn to wait on You and to be of good courage, knowing that You are in perfect control of my life and all I am called upon to do is to quietly wait for You to act on my behalf and to confidently wait on You with prayer and worship and a heart of thanksgiving and praise. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”
