Praying through Psalm 23:2

Father God, thank You that Jesus is my Good and faithful Shepherd. Thank You for the times that You bring me to a halt in the hustle and bustle of this frenzied life and cause me to take time to rest. May I listen to Your voice, respond to Your gracious leading, and lie down in the green pastures into which You have led me. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.”
(Psalm 23:2)

Praying through Psalm 23:3

Father of all grace and mercy, I praise Your name for Your wonderful words of comfort and Your promise that nothing can ever pluck me out of Your hand. Thank You that no matter what I do, You will restore me and lead me along life’s path, for the honour of Your name. Keep me, I pray, from wandering far from You and may all I do, from this day forward, be to Your honour and glory. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.”
(Psalm 23:3)

For A Dying Christian Friend In A Hospice

Loving Lord, I just want to lift up my dear friend to You, who has been such a comfort and strength to me for so many years, but who has at last been admitted to a hospice where she is to pass her final few weeks of life in dignity and respect, as her life drains from her. Lord, I know that I am going to miss her so much.

Be with her Lord, every moment of the day and night. Thank You Father, that she is to be looked after in such a caring and understanding environment. Be with the staff who are to attend her as her life flows from her and Lord, I pray that she would be very aware of Your very presence with her, every moment of the day.

Lord, I know that she is ready and longing to meet You face to face, and I ask that You would keep her free from the pain and suffering that so often stalks the advancement of death. But praise God that the grave has lost its terrible sting and death has lost its victory, through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise Your holy name!

Lord, I know that I am going to miss my dear friend, but my sadness has such a wonderful tinge of hope and joy, for I know that soon we will all be together in Your company, where we will be free from all sickness and sadness, and You will wipe away every tear from our eyes. Thank You Lord, in Jesus' name,

Amen.

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”

Praying through Psalm 23:5

Heavenly Father, how I praise and thank You for Your Word and the comfort and strength it gives me. Thank You that You are my Shepherd and my Provider. Thank You that You are with me through the darkest days as well as during the sunny times, and thank You that You have provided all that I need, according to Your riches in glory. Thank You that You are my God and Saviour. You have, indeed, prepared an overflowing table before me in the presence of my enemies and have anointed my head with the oil of gladness. My cup overflows with Your never-ending blessings, for which I praise and thank You. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.”
