Praying through Malachi 3:1

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness and grace to all people. Thank You that You have told us the end from the beginning, through faithful men of old like Malachi. Thank You for the message of John the Baptist who prepared the way for Jesus. Thank You that Jesus came at the appointed time to be our Saviour and that as many as believe in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. I pray that my faith may grow and that I come to a deeper knowledge and understanding of Your Word. I pray that I will decrease and Christ will increase in my life. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.”

Praying through Malachi 3:2

Heavenly Father, thank You that in Christ there is no condemnation. Sadly, the world is full of men and women who have remained deaf to Your Word, disobedient to Your command, and defiant to Your truth. In judgement, I pray that you would remember mercy and ask that in the days that are left in this age of grace, that many would come to faith in Christ for the forgiveness of sins and life everlasting. I ask this in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:”

Praying through Malachi 3:3

Heavenly Father, how we praise and thank You that You are the same yesterday, today and forever. Thank You that Your promises to both Israel and the Church are fixed in heaven because of Your goodness and faithfulness. Forgive us for the way that we have gone against You and followed after our own foolish ways and desires. Search my heart I pray and may I be cleansed and made pure in my inner being. Thank You that You have promised that in Christ I shall come forth as purified gold and silver ..to Your praise and glory, in Jesus name I pray. AMEN.

“And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.”

Praying through Malachi 3:4

Heavenly Father, thank You that despite their wanton way and attempts to be justified by works of the Law instead of by faith in Christ, the day is coming when all-Israel will be pleasing in Your sight. Thank You for Your long-suffering mercy and great goodness to all Your people. I praise You that Israel will one day be pleasing to You and the joy of their salvation will be restored. Thank You for the full and final work of Christ on the Cross for my salvation and that through His death and Resurrection the full and final Sacrifice has been made for my sin, for their sin, and for the sin of the whole world. Thank You that the day is coming when the priests and people of Israel will return to You, their hearts will be purified, and their offerings will become a sweet-smelling savour to You. Help me to renounce evil and choose the good and live by faith and not by sight. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years.”

Praying through Malachi 3:6

Heavenly Father, how I praise and thank You that You are the unchanging and unchangeable God. Great is Your faithfulness to Your people of Israel and great is Your faithfulness to the Church - the Body of Christ. Thank You that Your word remains fixed forever and that Your promises to both Israel and the Church can never change.. for You are the immutable God Whose word stands fast for ever and ever. We praise Your name for ever and ever, AMEN.

“For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”

Praying through Malachi 3:8

Heavenly Father, thank You that we are not under the Law, but under Grace. I praise and thank You for all that You are and all that You have done for me. I pray that my heart would be open before you, and that You would develop in me a loving and giving heart and a spirit of generosity. Help me never to fall into the same prideful trap into which many in Israel fell, when they refused to obey Your Word and robbed You of Your rightful place in their lives. Lord, I freely acknowledge that all that I am, You have made me, and all that I have, You have given to me. I pray that I may live and work for Your greater praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.”
