Prayer for Luke 10

Praying through Luke 10:1

Heavenly Father, thank You that through the witness of Your Word and the faithful service of others Christians I heard the good news of the gospel and have come to faith in Christ - Who alone has the words of eternal life. I pray that You would use me in the place where You have put me so that others may hear the good news of the gospel of grace and be saved by Your goodness and grace - in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

“After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.”

Praying through Luke 10:16

Heavenly Father, what an incredible privilege and responsibility to realise that as members of Christ's Body, we are His representatives on earth and that whoever rejects His people are also spurning the Lord Jesus and the Father Who sent Him. I pray that I may be careful to share the good news of the gospel of grace with those that are dead in their sins so that they may hear and believe on our Father in heaven, and Jesus Christ, Whom He has sent. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.”
(Luke 10:16)

Praying through Luke 10:20

Heavenly Father, I praise and thank You for my great salvation. Thank You for the many blessings that are showered upon me, day by day. How I praise and thank You that by grace through faith in Christ, we, the Body of Christ, are one with Him and that our names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. Praise Your holy name. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.”

Praying through Luke 10:22

Thank You, Father, that Jesus was prepared to set aside His ever divine prerogative, and take on Himself the form of a Man, so that by faith in Him I might be brought into Your family. Thank You that through Him, I have been returned into fellowship with You. I pray that I may come to know You more and to love You better with every passing day. Thank You for forgiving my sin and covering me in Christ's perfect righteousness. May I live and work for Your praise and glory in this life, and in the ages to come. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.”

Praying through Luke 10:25

Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus died for my sins so that by faith in Him I will not perish, but have everlasting life. Keep me from legalistic thinking that I am able to do something to add to Christ's finished work on the Cross. Thank You that by faith in Him, I have been forgiven of my sins and received eternal life as a free gift of grace, not of works of Law (lest I should start to boast in my own righteousness), but only by grace through faith in Christ Jesus my Saviour. Praise His holy name, AMEN.

“And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

Praying through Luke 10:27

Heavenly Father, thank You for showing me that I can never attain the perfect standard that You require for entrance into eternal life. What amazing love you showed to me, that Jesus paid the full price for my sins in His finished work on Calvary. Help me to love You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength, and give me a heart of love to my neighbours and those in my life. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.”

Praying through Luke 10:42

Heavenly Father, I desire to be faithful to all You command me to do. I pray that I would choose the better part and sit at Your feet, day by day, so that my spirit may be refreshed and my soul revived. I pray that as I am filled by You, I may be used as a vessel to pour out Your love to others, for Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”
