Praying through Ephesians 6:1

Heavenly Father, thank You for the family unit which was ordained by You from the beginning. Help me to be a good parent and to instruct those in my care wisely. Help me also to be child-like in my relationship with others and to respect and honour them, as unto the Lord. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.”

Praying through Ephesians 6:10

Heavenly Father, thank You that You have given me all I need to be victorious in the spiritual battle in which all Your children are engaged. Help me to rely on You and not on my own abilities. Help me to find all I need in You and in the power of Your might. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”

Praying through Ephesians 6:12

Heavenly Father, thank You that Christ Jesus has won the victory over sin, Satan, and the spiritual forces that work in the darkness of this world. Help me to recognise that I can only defeat the spiritual enemies that war in the world today, through Christ. Thank You for providing me with the means to live a victorious life in Christ, through the Word of God, prayer and praise, and by abiding in Christ and He in me. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Praying through Ephesians 6:13

Heavenly Father, I pray that I may take up the full armour of God and resist all the works of the enemy in this evil day in which we live. I pray that I may walk in spirit and truth, being clothed in Christ's own righteousness. May I receive the power from above to stand fast in this evil day and to resist the principalities and powers - to Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

Praying through Ephesians 6:14

Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus is the Way and the Truth and the Life and that I have been clothed in His own righteousness by grace through faith. As I live out my life, I pray that I may walk in integrity, speak the truth in love, and be continuously clothed in Christ's own righteousness - so that I may stand in the evil day, and having done all to hear You say, "well done, good and faithful soldier," to Your praise and glory, AMEN.

“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;”

Praying through Ephesians 6:16

Heavenly Father, thank You that You have fully equipped us to overcome the world, the flesh, and the devil, with such wonderful pieces of spiritual armour. Thank You for the Shield-of-Faith, with which I am enabled to extinguish all the flaming arrows and fiery darts of the evil one. Help me to stand fast on the promises of God and to keep my eyes looking to Jesus. Thank You that I have not only been saved by grace through faith in Him, but that in the power of the Holy Spirit I may live by grace through faith. Father, I pray that I live by faith and not by sight, to Your eternal praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”
