Prayer for Colossians 4

Choose Verse

Heavenly Father, how I praise that thank You that there is no shadow of turning with You, and that You are no respecter of persons - but that each one of Your children are precious in Your sight. No matter what my circumstances, I pray that I would follow Christ's example of goodness and grace, kindness and integrity. I pray that I would be fair and honourable in all my dealings and that by Your grace, my life would reflect the beautiful character of Christ, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

“Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.”

Prayer Of Gratitude For My Friends

Heavenly Father, how gracious You are to bring into my life my many precious friends - all of which have become so special to me in their own individual and unique way.
I feel so blessed to be surrounded with so many dear people that I love and care for, and for the knowledge that they also love and care for me too – and thank You for the support that I have so often received from different ones , during those times of difficulty and pain.
Thank You also for the valuable lessons that I have learned through… some of which have been very difficult, and yet I have been have enabled through their loving support and encouragement to grow spiritually and emotionally – and gain wisdom and insight in so many important ways.
Help me to be the sort of friend that is always there for others. An ear to listen, a hand to help and a heart to comfort – and help me to grow in grace and in a knowledge of our Saviour, Lord Jesus, so that I me be His hand, His ear, His heart and His comfort to the many precious people that You have place in my life, in Jesus name I pray,

“Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;”

Heavenly Father, help me I pray to conduct myself as is most expedient, with all wisdom and grace in my everyday life.. and help me to make the most of my opportunities to share about Jesus to those who have not yet heard of His gracious salvation. This I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

Loving Father my speech is not always gracious or seasoned with salt. Through You Spirit I pray that the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart is always acceptable to you so that I only say that which is pleasing to You, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

“Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for the godly example of servants like Tychicus, who gave comfort and encouragement to others and was a faithful man of prayer, whom You entrusted to fulfil Your plans and purposes through his life-example. Give me the grace to faithfully fulfil the work that You have called me to do, and I pray that I may continue earnestly in prayer, be vigilant in worship, give comfort and encouragement to others and in everything give thanksgiving and praise, for the honour of Your name – this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

“Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts;”

Prayer For A Purposed-Filled Life.

Father I know that you have a plan for each of our lives – and I understand that the main desire for every one of Your children is to know Jesus more and more and to live our life in a manner that is pleasing to You and exults Your holy name.

Father I know that Paul reminded us that as Your children we are to know You.. and the power of Your resurrection and the fellowship in Your sufferings.. and I believe that the way we cope with the various difficulties and dangers, heartaches and sufferings, problems and pain, trials and temptations is connected to the fulfillment of the many plans that You have purposed for us, in our lives.

Help me I pray to face the challenges of life looking to Jesus and relying on His sufficient strength and grace. Help me not to repay evil for evil but to love my enemy, and to do good to those that despitefully use me.

Help me more and more to develop the beautiful fruit of the Spirit – and may an abundance of love and joy, peace and patience, kindness and goodness, faithfulness and self-control overflow from my life into the lives of all I meet - until Christ is formed in me and I live my life as unto Him. May I reflect Your purpose in my life from this day forward to Your praise and glory – this I ask in the name of Jesus my Savior,

“Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for the wonderful truths that are set out in the book of Colossians, and in all the Holy Scriptures, which guide us into truth, sharpen our resolve to live as Christ lived and teach us the way we should behave. May we learn to love Your word; study the Scriptures daily and show ourselves approved unto God, so that we live as shining lights in this darkened world and do not fall into spiritual complacency. Thank You that the Word of Truth is freely available - knowing that the days are becoming darker. Protect those who have limited access to Scripture because of oppressive governments and ungodly laws and may we all grow in grace as we watch for the any-day return of the Lord Jesus for His Church - this we ask in His precious name, AMEN.

“And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.”

Prayer Accountability in a Christian Home

Loving Lord, You have placed us all in families and have, by Your own authority, established Your own statutes and laws. Thank You for placing us all in families and for my own family, in particular.

Thank You for the clarity with which You have taught us in Your word how that family that is seeking to do Your will, behaves… and the rolls that each of us holds within our own special family unit.

Thank You Lord, that You are our Father and have authorised the man of the home to take the place of authority, as the head of the family - just as You yourself are the Head of the family of God. May the men who are in this responsible role behave in a manner that is pleasing to You, by treating their wives with love and respect and their children with loving discipline and wise counsel. May they each become men after Your own heart as they assume their God-given role in their own homes.

May wives be gentle and gracious and willing to act in the crucial role of helper that You, Yourself have graciously placed them – may wives reflect the great love that Christ had for the Father and the sweet gentleness of the Holy Spirit – just as Jesus demonstrated these qualities in His own life… by submitting graciously to the Father’s will and desiring to do only those things that are pleasing to Him Give wives wisdom in the way that they behave towards their men-folk and may they grow in grace more and more as they walk in the steps of the lovely Lord Jesus Christ – Who was so full grace and truth.

Thank You for the heritage and gift of children, who we understand are a gift from God – a gift that has been lent from the Lord and a gift that You have graciously placed in so many families. And we pray that You would give all parents the grace and wisdom to teach and discipline their children in loving-kindness– and may the children themselves respect their parents and recognise the privilege they have in being part of a godly family unit. Loving Lord thank You for my family – and into YOUR hands I commit my family, from this day forward, even for evermore.

“And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.”
