Prayer for 2 Thessalonians 2

Choose Verse

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your word and the truths that it contains. Open my understanding as I watch for the any day return of Christ, to take us to be with Himself. Thank You that members of Your body are not appointed to wrath, and thank You that You are using Your people to hold back the flood of evil, through the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit. We pray that before Your judgement is finally poured out on a Christ-rejecting world, and the unrestrained evil, which will soon saturate the entire earth, that many would come to faith in Christ - before that great and terrible day of the Lord. We ask this in Jesus name, AMEN.

“Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,”

Praise for the First and Second Advents of the Lord

Dear Father God, how we rejoice when we call to our minds the glorious truth that the eternal Light of the world came to earth as a baby to become the Redeemer of mankind – to give His life for a lost world and to pour peace and hope into the hearts of a people who were estranged from their Creator God.

Father may our lives reflect His love as we look back in time to the first Advent of our Lord and Saviour – but let us never forget that there is a future Advent – a second coming when the earth will be filled with the glory of God once again – as the waters cover the sea.

Lord we know that You are returning and not as a tiny baby lying in a humble manger and wrapped in swaddling clothes but as a conquering King Who is to come to rescue His people Israel.

But Lord we know that first You are to come in the clouds to take Your church back to Your heavenly home – when the dead in Christ will rise first and we will all be changed in a moment - to become like unto You Lord Jesus.

Lord I pray that Your Church will prepare herself for Your soon return. Lord I pray that Your Body will be ready for that glorious day when You come to take us home to be with Yourself. Lord I beseech You that Your bride – who is the Church will be pure and holy, without spot and wrinkle or any such thing.. and Lord.. start that work in ME I pray, in Jesus name

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;”

Heavenly Father, thank You that by faith in Christ I am not appointed to wrath because Jesus took the punishment for my sin, in His body on the tree. Thank You that You have given us history in advance so that we do not fear as the lost who have no hope of eternal life, but have confidence in Your word. Thank You that all that You have purposed for us will certainly come to pass and we praise You for the blessed hope we have in Christ. May I be ever watching and waiting expectantly for the return of the Lord Jesus to resurrect His dead and rapture all living believers - for which we praise and thank You in Jesus' name. AMEN.

“Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?”

Heavenly Father, thank You for the ministry and teachings of the apostle Paul and for this comforting passage of Scripture which reminds us that lawlessness will continue to be restrained by the power of the Holy Spirit, as God's plans and purposes are forwarded through the prayers and praise of the body of Christ. May the prayer of the righteous be effective and powerful and continue to restrain the spread of lawlessness throughout the world. Thank You that the day is coming when Satan; sin; death and hell will be thrown into the lake of fire and righteousness will be established forever. May we worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness and work the works of God in every area of our lives as we walk in spirit and truth for His greater glory - this we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,”

Prayer Of Gratitude For Love

Thank You Lord for loving me so much that You sent Your only begotten Son to die on my behalf on a cruel cross and take upon Himself my sins. Thank You that He identified with my sinfulness so that I might be identified with His righteousness, by grace through faith in Christ. How grateful I am that while I was still a lost sinner Christ died for me.
How thankful I am Lord that You searched me out and found me and brought me back into Your family, even though I was dead in my sins and at enmity with You. Praise Your holy name, for You are a good God and Your loving-kindness endures forever and I will be eternally grateful that You are my God and I am Your child.
Thank You that You are my helper and healer. Thank You that You are my refuge and strength and  thank You that You have surrounded me with people who love me dearly.. and whom I love too. Lord I do not deserve any of Your grace and goodness and yet day by day You pour new and rich mercies into my lap and cover me with Your blessings. Praise God that You are the Rock of my Salvation,

“But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:”
