Recently, I met a 28-year-old restaurant manager (of whom I know little of and don't even know his name) in a remote corner and he and the cook are the only staff. He was working in an entirely different field. His boss,who has a lot of shares in this restaurant, asked him to quit his previous job (also the boss of that company) to work at the restaurant. That day, I was drawn to that restaurant. The young man was polite and smiling all the time. He told me it was hard providing good service to customers that morning and he had to turn away a few of them. That's not good business but he was working alone in a very huge industrial-like looking place. After a brief exchanges, he also mentioned that his girlfriend of 4 years broke up with him. He was smiling all the time, trying to be strong. Why would a young man tell an old lady like me whom he had met for the first time his problems. Surely, God must want him to be prayed for. I am more worried about his future and what all these unfortunate happenings would do to his spirit in the long run. He said I do not have to visit the restaurant every week--just once a month. I could tell how down he was. I told him to stay strong. I have not gone back since and I believe prayers first will help him even more and God will help me to be of encouragement appropriately--not just eating at the restaurant but to guide in a very indirectly manner to feel 'unstucked' and to make the right decisions for his future. My opinion is that his boss is selfish; he is not doing the job he was trained for. Please pray for him.
