Prayer for Jeremiah

Praying through Jeremiah 1:5

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the reminder in Jeremiah that you formed each one of us in the womb and that You have scheduled every day of my life. Thank You for the example of Jeremiah the prophet, who was willing to suffer hardship, loneliness, pain, and rejection, for the furtherance of Your will, and who penned portions of holy Scripture for our learning. I pray that from this day forward, my life may be consecrated to You. Use me to fulfil Your will in my life, for Your greater praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”

Praying through Jeremiah 1:7

Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of Jeremiah who was used by You to tell both Jew and Gentile the message You gave Him to speak. Thank You that You can use anyone who is ready and willing to hear and answer Your call. You have promised that Your grace is sufficient when, in faith, we respond to Your leading and guidance. Lord, here am I, send me. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.”

Praying through Jeremiah 1:8

Heavenly Father, thank You that there is nothing in heaven or earth, of which to be afraid. Thank You that You are with me and have promised to deliver me from all forms of evil and to protect me, and those I love, from all that would do me harm, just as You did with Jeremiah, and other men of God, who trusted Your name. Thank You for the witness of people like Jeremiah, whom You equipped as a mighty man of God, yet was attacked on all sides. Thank You that Your promises to him stood fast throughout his lifetime, just as they do for your people today. Thank You that You are my Defence and my Deliver, through time and into eternity. This I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.”

Praying through Jeremiah 2:4

Heavenly Father, forgive me for the times I have not listened to Your voice or responded to Your Word, but have followed my own way and have been influenced by things that dishonour Your name. Keep me low at the Cross and broken before You. Open my ears to hear Your voice and open my eyes so that I may follow in Your way. As I consider Israel's failure to listen to Your Word and obey Your voice, help me to be attentive to all that You would teach me, and may I honour Your name in all I am and all I do, to Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:”

For America As A Nation Who Has Lost Its Way

Loving Lord, I come to You to place the once great nation of United States of America at Your feet, knowing that our great country and it's constitution was made for a moral and religious people and is wholly inadequate for any other form of government, and yet we have strayed so far from the principles and practices of our great founders, who drew up our constitution based on Your Word.

But Lord, although this was once the land of the brave and the home of the free, sadly there is so much that is wrong with our country that I fear for its future. Lord, as a people we have walked away from You and discredited Your holy name by the way that we have conducted ourselves over the past few years and there is no health in our land.

Look down in pity on our people and our land, and protect us from those that seem determined on destroying our nation. Send Your Spirit I pray, through the land of America, and touch the hearts of all those that are called by Your name to plead on behalf our people. Convict those that are damaging our infrastructure and as a nation may we turn away from our wicked ways and return You to Your rightful position, in integrity and truth.

I ask this in Jesus' name,

Amen.

“In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.”

Praying through Jeremiah 6:16

Heavenly Father, thank You for Jeremiah who was obedient to his calling despite the immense opposition he received from his fellow-countrymen. I pray that I may be faithful to my calling, and walk in the way of peace and righteousness for Your name's sake, even when I am opposed by family or friends. Keep me low at the Cross and broken before You. May I walk in spirit and truth towards the high calling of God in Christ Jesus, dying to self and living for Christ alone for Your greater praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.”

Praying through Jeremiah 8:22

Heavenly Father, it is with a grieving heart that we come before You to plead for our national leaders, who have been so deceived by the satanic system that has relegated God to the realms of the irrelevant. And we pray for Christendom in particular, for the shocking way that we have allowed the world to so influence our thinking to the extent that we have lost sight of who we are in Christ. Look down on us with pity and mercy we pray and may You graciously pluck many from the brands before that great and terrible day of the Lord. This we ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?”

Praying through Jeremiah 9:5

Heavenly Father, the lament of Jeremiah makes me realise that there is none that is good, not even one. But thank You that in Your grace, You sent Jesus to be the propitiation for my sin and not only for my sin, but for the sin of the whole world. May the truth that whosoever believes on Him would not perish but have everlasting life, ring out from my lips. I pray that I may reflect Your goodness in the land of the living and be a living sacrifice of prayer and praise for Your greater glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.”

Praying through Jeremiah 10:10

Loving Heavenly Father, I worship and praise You, for You alone are worthy of praise. You alone are the living God of truth and love, righteousness and justice. You are in control of the whole earth, despite the evil ploys of wicked men, and one day You will right all wrongs. Thank You that Your desire is to save all those that trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.”

Praying through Jeremiah 10:16

Heavenly Father, As I read through the life and times of Israel I realise that their initial murmurings and unbelief led them into the most terrible apostasy against Your holy name. Keep me grounded on the Word of Truth - lest I also am carried away by the error of lawlessness and fall from my own secure position in Christ. May I grow in grace, and in a knowledge of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, to Who be all praise and glory, AMEN.

Praying through Jeremiah 10:23

Heavenly Father, forgive me for the times when I have sought to walk independently of Your leading. I recognise that this is a form of rebellion and an attempt to be independent from You. May I become increasingly willing to remain dependent upon You. Lord, please guide my steps and lead me in the way I should go. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.”

Praying through Jeremiah 15:16

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your written Word and for Jesus Christ, the living Word of God. I pray that Your Word would become for me a joy.. and the delight of my heart for I have been called by Your name, and saved by the blood of the Lamb. I pray that I may be a doer of the word and always trust in its precepts and promises, no matter what difficulties and dangers I may have to undergo as an individual or nationally. Help me to hold fast that which is good and do only those things that are pleasing in Your sight - in Jesus name I pray, AMEN

Praying through Jeremiah 17:5

Heavenly Father, thank You that You are a God Who never changes. Thank You that Your love and grace is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Forgive me for the times that I have wandered far away from You and drunk from the broken cisterns of this world. May I never place my trust in man nor put my confidence in my own abilities by depending works of the flesh or trusting in my own strength. Let me not be enticed from Your Word of truth and help me to keep the eyes of my heart and the meditation of my mind on the Lord Jesus, for He alone is worthy. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Jeremiah 17:7

Loving Father, I realise more and more, the rich blessings that are received by those who trust in Your Word and place their eternal hope in You. Help me to live by faith and not by sight, so that You become increasingly the focus of my heart and joy of my life. Develop in me that child-like trust in You that pleases Your Father-heart of love. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You that in the midst of all life’s difficulties and problems, You are my Rock and my Redeemer, my Source and my Supply. Thank You that in Christ, I have all I need to stand firm in this evil day. Christ is my health, my strength, and the stronghold of my life. I pray that no matter what difficulties arise, that I would draw all my hope and strength from Him. I pray that I would live a life that honours You and that I would bear much fruit to Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Jeremiah 17:9

Heavenly Father, thank You that I am Your child and have been saved by grace through faith in Christ. Nonetheless, it is uncomfortable to realise that, like all men, my heart is deceitful and desperately wicked. I pray that You would search my heart, my motives, my conscious thoughts, and even my unconscious imaginings, to see if there is anything in me that needs to be rooted out. Purify my heart, I pray. Lord, I am so aware that these days, we are encouraged to follow the desires of our own hearts. May the deep desire of my heart be to follow only You and Your leading, in the power of the Holy Spirit, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Thank You for the prophecy of Jeremiah and for the knowledge that You are a righteous God Who will not only reward those who trust in You, but will punish the wicked who reject Your long-suffering mercy and gracious offer of salvation. Search my heart, I pray, and help me to abide in Christ, day by day, so that I may be like a tree that blossoms and buds and brings forth much fruit, for Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

May I learn from their mistakes and be guided into godly living. Thank You that You can be trusted to fulfil Your promises to Your people and to correct us when we go astray. I pray that I would be faithful in the work You have given for me to do, and thank You that in You is healing, wholeness, hope, and joy, for You are my God and are worthy of all praise, AMEN.

Prayer To Find The Root Of My Health Problem

Heavenly Father, I seem to have been hit with a number of ailments all at the same time, and the doctors do not seem to know why this has happened, or how to treat me. Lord, You know exactly what is wrong with my body, and I ask that You would direct me toward the right treatment, not just to mask the conditions that have invaded my body, but to search out the root of the problem, and enable it to be cured.

Lord, I know that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, and that You even know the number of hairs on my head. You knew me before I was born and scheduled every day of my life, so this illness is nothing unexpected to You. Heal me Lord I pray, in whatever way seems best to You.

Lord, show me what I ought to do, I pray. If I need to change my eating habits, eliminate something from my diet or do something I have not thought about, I ask that You would direct me, or prompt someone else give me some advice.

Lord, I wait on You and pray that in Your time and in Your way, You will not only restore my body to full health and strength, but that You would give me Your peace and serenity in my heart, knowing that in all things, I am safe in the arms of my Saviour, in Whose name I pray,

Amen.

“For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.”

Thank You that You are a listening God Who hears the calls and cries of Your people, and thank You for the many precious promises that will never fail, because You are faithful and true to Your Word.
