Praying through 2 Kings 5:1

Heavenly Father, thank You for the beautiful story of Naaman the Syrian general, who was also a leper. Thank You that by God’s grace, he believed the words of his little servant girl, obeyed the instruction of Elisha the prophet, and trusted the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to heal him. How wonderful that he was used to bring many souls to a knowledge of the goodness and grace of God. Lord, how I praise You that it is not Your will that any should perish, but that all should come to a knowledge of You. Help me to be like that little servant girl and be ready and willing to tell others that Jesus died for their sin, that He rose again, is seated at the right hand of the Father, and is coming again in glory to judge the living and the dead. Thank You that whosoever believes on Him will not perish but have everlasting life. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.”

Praying through 2 Kings 5:13

Heavenly Father, thank You for the many lessons I can learn from the beautiful story of Naaman the leper and the gentle little maid who offered wise advice. Help me to recognise my own inadequacy, my poverty, my pride, and my inability to save myself. Thank You for the simple gospel message, where we can be washed by the blood of the Lamb and cleansed of all our sin, through faith in Him. Help me to humble myself before Your mighty hand, like this great Syrian general who responded to the Word of the Lord, obeyed His voice and was made whole. Thank You in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?”
