Prayer for Titus

Praying through Titus 1:1

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and for calling me into Your family, through faith in Christ. Help me to take heed of all that You would teach me, and use me, I pray, to point the lost to Christ and to encourage those that are saved by grace. Thank You that we have been equipped with knowledge of the truth, which is according to godliness. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Thank You for Your promise of eternal life to all who have trusted Christ as Saviour. And thank You that Your Word is true, and Your promises stand fast forever and ever. I pray that as Your ambassador on earth, I may live as a worthy citizen of heaven, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Titus 1:3

Heavenly Father, thank You for the book of Titus and the many teachings it provides on living godly lives for Your honour and glory. Thank You for the life of Paul and for entrusting him with the truth of the gospel of grace. Thank You that Your Word is true and never fails and that You determined before the foundation of the world to redeem mankind from their sin, by grace through faith in Christ. Thank You for sending Jesus as the incarnate Word Who lived a perfect life and died and rose again so that I might have the promise of eternal life, through faith in Him. Praise His holy name, AMEN.

Praying through Titus 1:4

Heavenly Father, thank You for Paul's letter to Titus and the wealth of information it contains, not only in the selection of church elders, but in the roles and responsibilities we all have in our homes and abroad. Thank You for the grace, mercy, and peace You give to me every day. Thank You that when friends and loved ones are far away, we not only have peace with God because of our great salvation, but we have the peace of God residing in our hearts, when our mind is focussed on Jesus. No matter where I am, You are with me to encourage and guide me. Help me live a godly life, both in my home and in my wider community, for Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Titus 1:5

Heavenly Father, thank You that I am a member of the Body of Christ and that we are all one in Him. Thank You for the joy of Christian fellowship and the opportunities we all have of meeting together in our local gatherings. Raise up leaders like Titus who stand firm on the authority of Scripture and carry out their responsibilities by speaking the truth in love. Raise up elders who are able to identify and address incorrect teachings and are willing to deal with issues that compromise the truth of the gospel of God. Keep each one of us low at the Cross and broken before You. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Titus 1:6

Heavenly Father, whether or not I am an elder in my local church, I pray that I may exhibit the same qualities and character of a godly man or woman who is above reproach so that my life may become a beacon of light in a lost and darkened world and give glory to my Father in heaven. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Titus 1:7

Heavenly Father, I want to be the sort of person that is pleasing in Your sight. Help me to examine myself to see if there are any areas within my own life and character that could be displeasing to You. Furnish the church fellowships of our nations with godly overseers who will take responsibility to care for the flock of God, and use them, and me, in whatever way You may choose, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Praying through Titus 1:9

Lead us, Lord, in Your righteousness, and may those that are appointed to the responsible position of church elder, reflect the qualities of a godly leader. May we individually seek to do that which is righteous in Your sight, and may we all earnestly contend for the faith so that we too may be perfect and complete, lacking in no quality that You would desire to see in each of Your children. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Titus 1:10

Heavenly Father, give me discernment to recognise false teachings and ungodly doctrines that have distorted the Word of God and twisted the truth of the glorious gospel of grace in some way. I pray that I will not be deceived by legalists, teachers, or ministries that give heed to worldly authorities, Jewish mysticism, the traditions and commands of men, or monetary gain, in preference to the truth of the Word of God. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Titus 1:11

Heavenly Father, I pray that my heart would be ever open to Your truth and that I am not influenced by any erroneous, legalistic lectures or prosperity teachings, but stand fast in the faith. Thank You that Christ’s sacrifice is sufficient and that my salvation does not rest on what I have to do, but on what Christ has done for me on Calvary's Cross. I am so thankful that by shedding His blood for my sins and by rising again from the dead, He paid it all so that by faith in Him, I might have the forgiveness of sins and life everlasting. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, keep me grounded on Your Word and securely founded on the truth of the glorious gospel of Christ. Give me wisdom to discern false teachings and help me to remain anchored to the Word of truth. Protect me from those that would subvert the gospel of Christ and may I grow up in all aspects of the faith, which was given for our learning - this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

Praying through Titus 1:15

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word of truth. I pray that under the guidance of the Holy Spirit I would rightly divide the Word of truth so that I do not get caught up in Jewish myths and unscriptural interpretation. Thank You that in Christ I have been sanctified and I am not bound by dietary laws which make me unclean - but have been cleansed by the blood of Christ, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, we pray for our local churches and for the elders that oversee the flock of God. We pray that they may be grounded in sound doctrine and firmly committed to safeguarding biblical truth in their local assemblies - in love. Help me also to be vigilant in searching the scriptures daily and keep us all from straying from the truth of the glorious gospel of Christ - so that Jesus may be glorified in our lives and in our local assemblies, in Jesus name we pray, AMEN

Heavenly Father, I praise and thank You that You have given us Your Word and that in it we have all we need for life and godliness. Praying through Titus 2:3

Heavenly Father, thank You for the instructions that are found within Your Word. Thank You for those older people that You placed in my life, to give me wise advice and sound teachings. As I too get older, please use me to be a source of help and encouragement to those that are younger in years. Give me sound wisdom and understanding of Your Word and the ability to be used by You to admonish and instruct others as You see fit, in humility and grace. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the mothers and women that have influenced those around them, in godly living and virtuous behaviour. I pray that in these increasingly difficult days, all of us, both women and men, would seek to live godly in Christ Jesus, in the power of the Holy Spirit, so that Your Word would not be dishonoured in our lives and others would be attracted to the beauty of Christ, through our living testimony. Help me to develop a godly attitude in my own home and marriage, my church fellowship and neighbourhood, and help me to apply the godly principles and biblical teachings You have given us on life and godliness, for Your praise and glory. May my life also be a true testimony of good deeds, pure doctrine, sound speech, and a worthy pattern of godly behaviour, for Your eternal praise. I pray that others would see the love and grace of Jesus in me and praise You. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

I pray that I may live godly in Christ Jesus, and remain sound in doctrine. I ask that You would guide me into all truth and correct me from any error. I pray that I might become a living testimony of Your goodness and grace, and be used by You to live a life that is beyond reproach, only saying and doing those things that honour Your holy name, to Your greater glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the timely words of instruction Paul gave to Titus and the encouragement he gave to speak, exhort, and reprove with all authority, when appropriate. I pray that I would be a living testimony to the truth of Your Word and an encouragement to my brothers and sisters in Christ. I pray that Church elders, pastors, and those in authority, would act responsibly in their important tasks concerning the organisation, orderliness, and spiritual well-being of the Body of Christ. I pray that they would speak the truth in love and be guided by Your Spirit to exhort and reprove with Biblical authority, if necessary, for the benefit of the Church and for Your greater praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

I pray that I may give due respect to those in authority and demonstrate the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God to a lost and dying world - so that I may see who I am in Christ and come to know Him as their Redeemer and Lord to Your honour and glory - this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN

Praying through Titus 3:9

Heavenly Father, as I see the world being 'divided-and-conquered' by wicked men, I pray that You would enable me to stand fast in this evil day. Help me to speak the truth and refuse to be manipulated by foolish controversies, genealogies, strife, doctrinal disputes, and other areas of Christian compromise. I know that these things are unprofitable and worthless and are used as a tool of the enemy to hinder the glorious gospel. Make me an effective witness to Your greater praise and glory. Praying through Titus 3:10

Heavenly Father, thank You for this wise advice from Paul.. to reject a factious man after a first and second warning. Lord, I confess that I have sometimes wasted valuable time, trying to appease certain people, whose obvious aim is to cause division or acrimony within the body of Christ... because of some pet preoccupation with one small doctrinal issue, in pursuit of a cherished ideal or to justify their some nonbiblical ideas. Help me to identify those that deliberately seeking to cause division in the body of Christ, and give me the grace and wisdom to remain silent, rather than being pulled into some unfruitful argument - this I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Titus 3:11

Heavenly Father, thank You for the wise instruction of Paul about division within the church and the need to address those that are divisive. Keep me from becoming entrapped in any form of legalism, and help me to recognise and avoid many of the heresies, unbiblical teachings, and legalistic rituals, that are infiltrating so many congregations today. Give church elders the wisdom and discernment to address any division within the Body of Christ, speedily, wisely, and biblically, so that others may not be misled. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
