Praying through 2 Corinthians 2:3

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word. Help me to learn all the lessons that I can from the corrective instructions that Paul gave to the various churches. Keep me from developing a 'holier-than-thou' attitude, help me to recognise my faults, and help me to take steps to correct my actions and attitudes when I am straying away from Your instruction. Use me to help my brothers and sisters, if they should go astray, and use them to correct my faults, should I stray from the path of righteousness. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Help me also, to be willing to receive and act on a word of correction from a fellow brother or sister in Christ, without automatically misunderstanding their motives. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that there is nothing I can do to commend myself to You because Jesus did it all on the Cross, on my behalf. Thank You that by faith in His death and Resurrection I have been declared righteous and have been brought into the family of God. Keep me from any legalistic leanings and give me discernment to identify and reject teachers and teachings that are not from You. I pray that my life may be a sweet aroma to my fellow believers and to You, and help me to grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus, day by day. This I ask in His precious name, AMEN.

Praying through 2 Corinthians 4:6

Loving Father, thank You for the Light You have given me in the face of Jesus, my Saviour and Lord. It is only through His sufficient sacrifice, that I have been so blessed, for without the shining Light of the Spirit of Christ within, I would have continued to wallow in the darkness of the world. May the light of Your truth, love, and compassion, shine in me and reflect from me the glories of Jesus. May Your name may be glorified in all I say and do. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through 2 Corinthians 4:7

Thank You, Father, that You have poured into my heart the light of Your gospel, which is from Christ Jesus my Saviour. I am not worthy to have received the new, resurrected life of Christ in this earthen vessel. Nor am I worthy to have the indwelling Holy Spirit in my heart to lead and guide me. But thank You that in Your grace, I have this wonderful treasure in my earthly body and I pray that the excellency of the power of God may work through me as I die to self and live for Christ. May my life be a living witness of Your saving grace and excellent power. I am not worthy to gather up the crumbs under Your table and yet You have given me this treasure in my heart, for which I thank You. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through 2 Corinthians 4:11

Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus died and was raised from the dead for my sake. Thank You for the ministry of Paul whose life was a little reflection of Christ's deep love for us... as he selflessly shared the gospel of grace to lost souls and was willing to be delivered over to suffering and death for love of the Lord Jesus so that the life of Christ might be manifest through him. I pray that I would be willing to die to my own self-interest for the love of Christ Jesus so that I may also be used by You to spread the good news of the gospel of grace and the life of Jesus might be manifest in my mortal body too. This I ask in Jesus' precious name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, what a wonderful hope we have in Christ that, day by day, we are being renewed in our inner man, even though we can see our outward body is growing older and deteriorating. Thank You for my present privileged position in Christ and for the glorious future destiny I have in heaven. I pray that I will not lose heart as I see my outer man decaying, but will stand strong in the faith and press on for the upward call of God in Christ Jesus, as I watch for His any day return when this mortal will put on immortality and this perishable body will be clothed in an imperishable one, for Your greater praise and glory. How I thank and praise You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.

May I face the afflictions and difficulties that are inevitable in this world system, with the same eternal perspective, godly grace, patient endurance, and unspeakable joy, that I see in Paul. Help me not to look at the circumstances of life with dread and fear, but rather, may I view them as part of the eternal tapestry of my life that You are weaving together for good. I look forward with joy to the limitless glories that You have prepared for those that love You, no matter what difficulties and dangers I may be called upon to face in this world. Heavenly Father, thank You for my life and the knowledge that by grace through faith, I have been made a new creation in Christ. This earthly body will be replaced with a heavenly dwelling, not made with hands but formed and fashioned by my God and Saviour. Thank You for the words of encouragement in Paul’s letter to the Corinthians, that no matter what trials, tribulations, persecution, and pain I may have to face while living in this earthly tent, I have the assurance of a permanent building from God, an eternal house in the heavens. Keep me ever mindful that this world is not my home and that my citizenship and eternal inheritance is kept for me in heaven. Thank You that one day I will be dressed in immortality and be made like unto Jesus, my God and my Saviour. Praise Your holy name, AMEN.

Prayer For Accountability In My Christian Life

Loving Lord, thank You for Your written Word which contains all that we need as unbelievers to be forgiven of sins, as well as all that we need as Your saved children, to live godly lives in Christ Jesus.

Father, I realise that in Your grace You have excluded no one from Your gift of Salvation, but You simply hold us accountable to believe in Your precious Son. But now I understand that You also hold me accountable to grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus, by faith in Christ and not by trusting in my own abilities, if I am to become a mature believer in Christ.

Lord, I want to grow in my Christian life and to live my life as unto the Lord. Teach me Your ways and guide me with Your Holy Spirit. Lord, I want to be accountable to You in my Christian life. Give me a teachable Spirit and a desire to apply all the truths that I am learning, for I desire to do Your will in my life. In Jesus' name I pray,

Amen.

Praying through 2 Corinthians 6:2

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your amazing grace and for that wonderful 'day of salvation' when Jesus rose from the dead and broke the power of Satan, sin, death, and hell. Lord, no one knows how many days they have left on the earth. Please bring many who are in that valley of decision, to a saving faith in Christ, before it is too late. Because now is the accepted time and today is the day of salvation. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the ministry and witness of Paul and the many things I can learn from his dedicated attitude in sharing the truth of the gospel. I praise and thank You for the assurance that I also have, that You are my Defence and my Defender and I can trust You no matter what difficulties or dangers I may encounter. May You be glorified in my life, and may I speak the Word of truth boldly, in the power of God, taking up the weapons of righteousness wherever I go. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, what an incredible privilege to have the Holy Spirit living within my human frame. Thank You, Lord, that You have chosen to take up residence in the hearts of all believers and that we have been given the ‘ministry of reconciliation’. Fulfil now, O Lord, the work that you have for me to do, and may I live for Your glory and consecrate my life to Your service. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Father God, over the years I know that many times I have been enticed by the world and each time, I discover myself out of fellowship with You. I desire in word and deed, mind and motive, to be separated unto You, in the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Dear Heavenly Father, I kneel in awe and wonder when I consider the grace that has been showered on me, that I should be called a child of the holy Creator-God and made joint-heir with Your beloved Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ. I pray, that as I gaze into the face of the lovely Lord Jesus, I may pass from glory to glory, and become increasingly conformed into Christ's image, and separate myself from the impurities and lusts of the world system and my fleshly self. Prayer Of Repentance Following An Abortion

Heavenly Father, You know all that I have done in my life, and how I have skirted around the issue of my abortion, dismissed the significance of this sin in my life and tried to pretend that it was no big deal.

But Lord, I now confess to You this terrible sin and realise increasingly that it is detestable in Your sight to abort a new little life. I confess my wrongdoing and grieve to think of the unborn baby that I chose to terminate in my womb.

I confess my sin and repent of my casual attitude and ask for Your healing touch on my life. Help me to release this painful memory to You and to accept that Your promise of forgiveness to all who repent of their sins and turn to Christ.

Thank You that You paid the price for all my sins at Calvary and that You have promised to remove them as far as the east is from the west… Thank You in Jesus name,

Amen

“For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.”
