Praying through 2 Corinthians 4:3

Heavenly Father, thank You for the many witnesses to the Word of truth. Thank You that salvation is freely available to all who will open their eyes to the truth of Your Word and unblock their ears to the satanic lies and deceptions that come from the evil one. Look down in pity on those that are in the valley of decisions and bring many into saving faith this day, through the convicting work of the Holy Spirit. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:”

Praying through 2 Corinthians 4:4

Father, I thank You that You sought me and found me. Keep my heart ever open to Your truth. I pray that many who hear the gospel today, will open their hearts to Your truth of the new covenant of grace and trust the Lord Jesus as Saviour. In His name I pray, AMEN.

“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

Praying through 2 Corinthians 4:6

Loving Father, thank You for the Light You have given me in the face of Jesus, my Saviour and Lord. It is only through His sufficient sacrifice, that I have been so blessed, for without the shining Light of the Spirit of Christ within, I would have continued to wallow in the darkness of the world. May the light of Your truth, love, and compassion, shine in me and reflect from me the glories of Jesus. May Your name may be glorified in all I say and do. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”

Praying through 2 Corinthians 4:7

Thank You, Father, that You have poured into my heart the light of Your gospel, which is from Christ Jesus my Saviour. I am not worthy to have received the new, resurrected life of Christ in this earthen vessel. Nor am I worthy to have the indwelling Holy Spirit in my heart to lead and guide me. But thank You that in Your grace, I have this wonderful treasure in my earthly body and I pray that the excellency of the power of God may work through me as I die to self and live for Christ. May my life be a living witness of Your saving grace and excellent power. I am not worthy to gather up the crumbs under Your table and yet You have given me this treasure in my heart, for which I thank You. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”

Praying through 2 Corinthians 4:8

Heavenly Father, although there are many things that are happening in my life that I do not understand, I thank You that You are in control and that the eternal Spirit is resident within my mortal body. I am so thankful that although I may be afflicted and perplexed, I will not be crushed to despair because I know that in Christ the victory is already won. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;”

Praying through 2 Corinthians 4:9

Heavenly Father, how I thank You for the way that You have worked in my life to draw me closer to Yourself through the things that I have suffered. Thank You that although I may be persecuted, You will never forsake me - and thank You that although I may be struck down, Your grace is sufficient, for Your strength is made perfect by my weakness. Thank You in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;”

Praying through 2 Corinthians 4:11

Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus died and was raised from the dead for my sake. Thank You for the ministry of Paul whose life was a little reflection of Christ's deep love for us... as he selflessly shared the gospel of grace to lost souls and was willing to be delivered over to suffering and death for love of the Lord Jesus so that the life of Christ might be manifest through him. I pray that I would be willing to die to my own self-interest for the love of Christ Jesus so that I may also be used by You to spread the good news of the gospel of grace and the life of Jesus might be manifest in my mortal body too. This I ask in Jesus' precious name, AMEN.

“For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.”

Praying through 2 Corinthians 4:16

Heavenly Father, what a wonderful hope we have in Christ that, day by day, we are being renewed in our inner man, even though we can see our outward body is growing older and deteriorating. Thank You for my present privileged position in Christ and for the glorious future destiny I have in heaven. I pray that I will not lose heart as I see my outer man decaying, but will stand strong in the faith and press on for the upward call of God in Christ Jesus, as I watch for His any day return when this mortal will put on immortality and this perishable body will be clothed in an imperishable one, for Your greater praise and glory. How I thank and praise You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”

Praying through 2 Corinthians 4:17

Praise Your Holy Name O Lord my God, for the glory without limit that awaits all who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour. May I face the afflictions and difficulties that are inevitable in this world system, with the same eternal perspective, godly grace, patient endurance, and unspeakable joy, that I see in Paul. Help me not to look at the circumstances of life with dread and fear, but rather, may I view them as part of the eternal tapestry of my life that You are weaving together for good. I look forward with joy to the limitless glories that You have prepared for those that love You, no matter what difficulties and dangers I may be called upon to face in this world. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.

“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;”
