Prayer For Corporate Accountability

Loving Lord and Heavenly Father, I do thank You for the family of Christ into which You have placed me and the loving fellowship that we enjoy together. As we study Your Word and seek to encourage each other in our little gatherings, I pray that the Word of Christ would dwell in us richly.

Help each of us to be willing to learn and also recognise the need to be accountable to each other as well as to You, as we seek to grow in grace corporately. Bless those that You have seen fit to equip each of us, and I pray that those who have been graced with the gift of teacher may motivate us all to be willing learners of You.

Lord, I know that one day I will stand before Your Bema judgement seat and I long to hear You say, “well done good and faithful servant.” I pray that in the days that I have ahead, I would draw close to You, and to my brothers and sisters in Christ, as together, we await that glorious day when we stand in Your presence, face to face with You.

Thank You, in Jesus' name,

Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the freedom I have in Christ. Thank You that I am not under any form of the Law, but under grace. Keep me from sin, I pray, and give me wisdom to recognise things that are permissible, but which are not expedient, and help me to live my life in a way that honours You. Thank You that in Christ, all things are lawful unto me, but I pray that I will not cause another to stumble or backslide in my own Christian life. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Loving Father, sometimes I am so familiar with the truth of Scripture, that I do not adequately take in its enormous significance. Help the truth of Jesus' death and Resurrection permeate deep into my heart, for You are good and gracious, and Your mercy toward me is everlasting. I love You, Lord. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Dear Lord, thank You for the eyewitness accounts of You in Your resurrected body. Thank You, that Your death and Resurrection united believers from all backgrounds, into one Body in Christ. Thank You that in Your grace, You used the apostle Peter to officially 'unlock' the good news of the gospel to all people, tongues, and nations, and used Paul as the apostle to the Gentiles. May I be ready and willing to share the gospel message with whosoever I come in contact today. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank you that like Paul it is by the grace of God that I am what I am.. It is by Your grace that I have been saved through faith in Christ and it is by grace that I am maturing in the faith and being conformed into the image and likeness of Christ.. for Your praise and glory. Thank You for the example of Paul who has helps us to understand that it is not the labour of my hand that is reckoned as righteousness.. but the grace of God that is with me and working through me.. that words the work of God. May I do all to Your praise and glory. Thank You in Jesus name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the amazing 15th chapter of Corinthians which goes into such specific detail about Christ's victory over sin and death - on our account. I praise and thank You that because of His great sacrifice on the Cross and glorious, bodily Resurrection, we too are raised into newness of life in Christ - not only in this world but also into the eternal ages to come, where we will be clothed in our eternal, resurrected bodies - for when we see Him as He is we shall be like Him, for which I praise Your holy name. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through 1 Corinthians 15:22

Heavenly Father, how wonderful to know that in Your grace, You purposed to redeem the fallen race of Adam, through the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus. You could have walked away from sinful man and allowed death to claim every one of us, for we have all sinned and fallen short of Your glory. And yet, You sent Jesus to be the propitiation for our sins to become the Federal Head of a new and perfect creation freed from the penalty of sin and released from its power. Thank You that although I was born in sin and death, by grace through faith in Christ, I have been made alive in Him and have been raised, through His Resurrection, into life immortal. Praise Your holy name that by Your goodness and grace, death has been swallowed up in His victory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Give me greater understanding of Your amazing plan of redemption. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through 1 Corinthians 15:26

Heavenly Father, thank You for the glorious truth of Christ’s Resurrection from the dead and that because He lives, I too will rise to life immortal. Death has always hung over the human race as the one inevitable end to all our lives. What an amazing truth that death itself will be destroyed. No mind can imagine what it cost You to send Your beloved Son into the world to be the sacrifice for sin and what it cost Christ to lay aside His glory and come to earth as a perfect man, live a sinless life, be rejected by those He came to save and crucified as a criminal, but rise again and became the First-fruit from the grave, conquering sin, Satan, and death itself. Thank You that Jesus is established as the federal Head of Your New Creation and Head of the Church. All honour, and glory, and might, and majesty belongs to You, for Your goodness and grace. Praise Your holy name, AMEN.

Prayer For Alcoholic Abuse

Dear Lord Jesus, we come to You in deep pain and sadness for those we know who are suffering in one way of another due to alcohol abuse. Both those that have been ensnared in their own excessive alcohol addiction and also those that are badly affected by the alcoholic abuse of someone else, a spouse, a parent, a child or a friend.

We know that You love and care for each and every addict and desire that they break free from their addiction. Remind them that Jesus died and rose again so that the power of sin and bondage to all forms of addiction might become ineffective in the life that is focused on the Lord Jesus.

We lift up all those we know who are suffering in any way, due to alcoholic abuse and addiction, especially those that we know personally, and pray that in Your grace and mercy You would do a great work in their lives, enabling those in bondage to break free of their debilitating addiction and those affected by the alcoholism of others to be kept our of harms way. May all come to a saving faith in Jesus and begin to enjoy a close walk with Him. In Jesus' name,

Amen.

“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Heavenly Father, what a glorious future You have purposed and planned for all who trust in Christ, as our God and Saviour. May I never doubt Your Word, but enable me to be steadfast in my daily walk, and strong in my Christian faith. Help me to be productive during my time on earth and enable me to carry out Your work and Your will, knowing that my toil is not fruitless in Christ. Thank You for the truth of the Resurrection and the knowledge that this mortal body will put on immortality, at Your appointed time. Help me to remain occupied in the work that You have prepared for me to do, to Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

For Families With An Alcoholic Father

Loving Heavenly Father, You put us into families and set a father as the leader and role model for each family, but Lord, there are many families that are being torn apart by a husband and father that has become addicted to alcohol.

Knowing the devastating nature of this disease, I pray that You would prompt each one to turn away from this evil habit to become the responsible husband and father that You desire each one to be.

Lord, we know that there are many alcoholic husbands that abuse their wives both physically and emotionally and that many children are also placed in danger due to abuse from an alcoholic father. And also Lord, we know that such drinking habits can often leave families with insufficient money to live on.

Protect all those that are vulnerable from all forms of abuse, and convict such men of the responsibilities of being loving husbands and dependable fathers. Lord, we pray that they turn from their evil ways to turn to the Lord Jesus, knowing that only in You is true freedom found.

Thank You Father. I commit all families that are in this position into Your safe-keeping. In Jesus' name,

Amen.

“Let no man therefore despise him: but conduct him forth in peace, that he may come unto me: for I look for him with the brethren.”

Loving Father, I confess that in my own strength, it is impossible for me to carry out all that I say and do in love, but I know that it is possible in the strength and power of the Spirit of love.
