Prayer for Psalm 1

Praying through Psalm 1:1

Loving Father, it is my desire that I too walk in Your ways and keep from foolish compromise with the world system. Keep my heart set on the Lord Jesus so that my thoughts are not influenced by the mindset of this current age. May I be like the man planted by Your many rivers of grace and love, joy and peace. May Your mercy and compassion flow through me to those around me, in the place where you have planted me. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”

Praying through Psalm 1:2

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your written Word. Help me to read it, to meditate upon it, and to apply its truth to my life. May I not be conformed to this world but, day by day, become more and more like Jesus Christ, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

“But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”

Praying through Psalm 1:3

Heavenly Father, thank You for the beautiful description of the man or woman who is like a tree firmly planted by streams of living water, yielding the blessed fruit of righteousness and prospering through Your never-failing provision. I pray that I may not be induced to walk in the way of the world, nor compromise my Christian faith. Thank You that I have all I need for life and godliness. I pray that all I do and everything I say, is done for Your greater praise and glory. Help me to be a worthy witness of Your loving-kindness and a living testimony of God's great love. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

Praying through Psalm 1:6

Dear Lord and Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus is my worthy High Priest Who has walked this earthly pathway before me. Thank You that He knows and cares about the difficulties I face in my earthly walk. Thank You that the Holy Spirit is accompanying me through all the changing scenes of life and is with me in every daily task I undertake. May I rest in Your love more each day, in the assurance that You know the path I take and that You are bringing to completion the good work that You have started in me. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.”
