Praying through Proverbs 16:1

Heavenly Father, thank You for the many truths that are hidden within the precious pages of Your Word. I pray that the plans and purposes of my heart will mirror the desire of Your will for me. Thank You that my life is in Your hands, and I pray that the answer of my tongue and the plans for my life are perfectly aligned to Your Word and Your will. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Proverbs 16:9

Dear Lord and Father, thank You, that I have the freedom to make future plans and yet have the wonderful assurance that You are the One Who directs my steps. Thank You, that I have been given the free-will to make choices in life, and a sound mind with which to think and consider different options. I pray that You would give me the wisdom to make the right choices in life, but thank You, Father, that I am not alone, because You guide me along the best way and direct my steps in the way I should go. Give me wisdom and discernment to make the best life-choices and an ear that is open to Your leading and guidance. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Praying through Proverbs 16:18

Heavenly Father, thank You for the clear warnings about pride and arrogance, and the terrible consequences that come when nurturing a haughty spirit. Keep me from the sin of pride or from trusting in my own importance. Keep me from the lie that I can add to my salvation through my own works or contribute toward my sanctification through my own strength. Help me to grow in grace and to walk in spirit and truth. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”

Praying through Proverbs 16:28

Heavenly Father, there are many that spread strife and cause division through gossip and lies or they lack integrity and demean others. Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked and save me from perverse people and those that seek to control the lives of others. I pray that my lips may be filled with gracious speech and healing words and that I develop an empathetic and listening ear. May I acknowledge You in all my ways and develop an understanding heart by Your grace. Thank You in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.”

Praying through Proverbs 16:31

Heavenly Father, thank You for the wise teachings in the book of Proverbs. I pray that I may take to heart the wisdom that it teaches and apply it to my own life. I pray that with every passing year, I may grow in grace and wisdom, through an increasing knowledge of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I pray that I may embrace every season of life as an opportunity to mature in the faith and grow closer to You. You have said that old age and a grey head of hair is a crown of glory when found in those that are declared righteous, by faith. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.”
