Praying through Matthew 15:11

Heavenly Father, search my heart, I pray, and root out any hypocrisy and legalism You find there. May the words of my mouth reflect a heart that honours you in thought, word, and motive. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.”
(Matthew 15:11)

Praying through Matthew 15:24

Heavenly Father, thank You for the wonderful compassion that Jesus showed to this Samaritan woman who came to understand that the Jewish Messiah was the Lord Jesus, the perfect son of David, and eternal Son of the most high God. Thank You that He is my Saviour too. Thank You that by grace through faith in Him, I have received forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. It is wonderful to realise that the whole Law was fulfilled when Jesus died as Israel’s perfect Passover Lamb and my precious Sin-Sacrifice. As I trace the wonderful plan of redemption from Adam’s sin, through Israel’s history, to the birth of Jesus - His sinless life, His sacrificial death, His glorious Resurrection, and Ascension into heaven, I am filled with awe and wonder that You loved the world so much that You gave Your only begotten Son to die in my place. Praise Your holy name, AMEN.

“But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

Praying through Matthew 15:28

Heavenly Father, thank You for the encouraging story of the Canaanite woman whose faith in You has helped to teach generations of Christians that it is not by becoming a Jew that we are saved, but by faith in Christ. Thank You that You sent Your only begotten Son to be born as the Jewish Messiah and Saviour of the world, and that by faith in Him we have the forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. Continue to open my eyes to behold wonderful things in Your Word, and guide me into all truth. This I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.”
