Praying through Mark 12:6

Heavenly Father, thank You for the wonderful Word of truth and the lessons that it teaches. I pray that I may take to heart all that You want me to learn. Give me an understanding heart, a teachable spirit, and a desire to do Your will. Help me, I pray, to do all for Your praise and glory, unto my life's end. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.”

Praying through Mark 12:10

Heavenly Father, how I bless and thank You that You tell us the end from the beginning. I am filled with awe and wonder when I read Old Testament prophecies like this one being fulfilled in Jesus in the New Testament. Thank You, Lord, that Jesus was the stone that the builders rejected, and yet in Your grace, He is the Cornerstone. He is King of kings and Lord of Lords, my Saviour and my Redeemer. To Him be all praise and glory, AMEN.

“And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:”

Praying through Mark 12:28

Heavenly Father, the blindness of these religious zealots is so sad, because they missed the joy of being taught the truth by the incarnate Son of God. Keep me from spiritual blindness and foolish religiosity, and open my eyes to see the truth of Your Word. Open my ears as well, to hear the glorious gospel of God and reveal to me any legalistic biases I may have developed. I pray that I may love You with all my heart, and soul, and mind, and strength, knowing that You gave Your only begotten Son to come to earth as the sacrifice for my sin - for which I offer my heartfelt thanks and everlasting praise to You, for You are a good and gracious God. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?”

Praying through Mark 12:29

Heavenly Father, thank You that You are One, unique God in Three Persons. Thank You that You are the exclusive and only true God and that You stand without comparison above the false gods of the pagan, Gentile nations. Thank You that You alone are the Almighty God Who was and is and is to come. Thank You that You are the One and only Saviour of mankind and that there is no other way by which we must be saved other than by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ's finished work. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:”

Praying through Mark 12:30

Father God, I know that my love is weak and cold by comparison with Your yearning heart of love toward me which is expressed in the incredible gift of the Lord Jesus as my Substitute and Saviour. I want to love You more and more with every facet of my life, in thought, and word, and deed, in spirit, soul, and body. Pour into my heart Your holy love, that I may be used as a channel of blessing through whom Your precious love flows out to those that I meet today. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.”

Praying through Mark 12:36

Heavenly Father, thank You that You have opened my eyes to the truth of Who Jesus is - the eternal Son of God Who was born as the perfect Son of Man, to be the propitiation for my sins, redeem me from the pit, and reconcile me back to God. I am so thankful that Jesus willingly set aside His heavenly glory to come to earth to die on the Cross to save a sinner like me and rise again to give me His life. Thank You that He is sitting at Your right hand, ever making intercession for me. What a glorious Saviour. In His name I pray, AMEN.

“For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.”
