Praying through John 12:3

Heavenly Father, may I sit at Your feet and worship You with all that I am and all that I have. May the beauty of Jesus seep into my soul and become a life-giving fragrance of His love, to all with whom I come in contact today. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.”

Praying through John 12:21

Heavenly Father, I praise and thank You that Jesus is the Seed of the woman Who has crushed the head of the Serpent, and that He is the Messiah of Israel Who came to fulfil Scripture and be crowned as their Messiah-King. I also thank You that You did not exclude the Gentiles from Your gift of salvation, but opened the life-gate so that whosoever will, may come to You and look, and believe, and live. Thank You that whosoever will may come and 'see' the Lord Jesus and be saved by faith in Him. AMEN.

“The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.”

Praying through John 12:23

Heavenly Father, how I praise and thank You for Your amazing plan of redemption, and that Jesus was ready and willing to forgo all human glory and praise and be led as a lamb to the Cross so that His death could pay the price for my sin, and the sin of the whole world. Thank You that Jesus lived a perfect life and died a sacrificial death, foregoing any honour, in order to be made sin on my account. Thank You that He chose to die a cruel death on Calvary's Cross so that by faith in Him, I might be forgiven of my sin and receive life everlasting. Praise Your Holy Name, and thank You. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.”

Praying through John 12:24

Heavenly Father, may I be willing to die to the things of myself and come to the place where I am able to put my old sinful nature in the place of death so that I may be raised up as a fruitful branch that honours my God and Saviour. Thank You that Christ has indeed, swallowed up death in victory - may I live only for His greater praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.”

Praying through John 12:27

Heavenly Father, how I praise and thank You for Your amazing plan of redemption, and that Jesus, the Holy Lamb of God, was willing to set aside His heavenly glory, be born into this fallen race, and be made sin instead of me... so that I might be made the righteousness of God in Him. Thank You that when He faced the trauma of the Cross and spiritual separation from You, that He chose to do Your will and glorify Your name through the sacrifice of Himself. Thank You, Father. I pray that I may be ready and willing to give my life as a living sacrifice for His name's sake and for His greater glory. This I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.”

Praying through John 12:28

Heavenly Father, how I praise and glorify Your holy name for the life and witness of the lovely Lord Jesus Who came to earth to fulfil Your redemptive purpose and plan for the fallen race of mankind. Father, if it were not for His miraculous birth, sinless life, sacrificial death, and glorious Resurrection, I would still be dead in my trespasses and sin and at enmity with You. Thank You that through Your goodness and grace, You purposed and planned to redeem mankind through faith in His finished work. Thank You for saving me. Thank You for sending Jesus to be the sacrifice for my sin. Thank You that You loved me before I knew You and have brought me into Your heavenly family. May I live and work to Your praise and glory, from this day forward and even forevermore. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.”

Praying through John 12:31

Heavenly Father, how I praise and thank You that Jesus came to earth to die on the Cross and be judged in our place so that by faith in Him I might be forgiven of my sins and identified with His perfect righteousness. Thank You that through Him both the penalty of my sin has been paid and also the power of sin, Satan, death, and hell was broken at the Cross. Help me to keep the eyes of my heart on the Lord Jesus, and may I grow more and more like Him with each passing day. This I ask in Jesus' name and for His dear name's sake, AMEN.

Praying through John 12:48

Heavenly Father, it is truly sombre to realise how man’s pride can be translated into unbelief and the shocking consequences of rejecting Jesus as the Word of God manifest in the flesh. Forgive me for the times when I have not been willing to listen to Your voice. I pray that I may become increasingly attentive to Your Word. Help me to keep looking to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith, and keep my ears open and attentive to His voice. In His name I pray, AMEN.

“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.”
