Praying through Hebrews 13:1

Heavenly Father, thank You that while we were yet sinners You loved us and gave Christ to be the propitiation for our sins. Help us in word and deed to increase and abound in brotherly love for one another, just as we also do for You. Give us wisdom as we minister to our brothers and sisters in Christ and may we speak the truth in love to Your praise and glory. This we ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

“Let brotherly love continue.”

Praying through Hebrews 13:2

Heavenly Father, it is thrilling to think that I may have helped, provided for, or entertained an angel unawares in my life. How wonderful to read in the Bible of angels being sent to earth by You as messengers and protectors and that we read of them worshipping You and rejoicing over one sinner who repents. And while the study of angels is fascinating, may I never take my focus off You, Lord. May I lift up my voice together with the angels and all the host of heaven to praise and worship You. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”

Praying through Hebrews 13:4

Heavenly Father, thank You for the institution of marriage and the loving intimacy that we gain from this special relationship, which was instituted by You, in the beginning. Keep me free from sin and pure in thought, word, body, and deed. I pray for all Christian marriages, that You would guard them against the temptations of the world, the flesh, and the devil - and purify Your Bride I pray, as together we watch expectantly for Your any day return as our Heavenly Bridegroom. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.”

Praying through Hebrews 13:5

Heavenly Father, I confess that there are times when I am tempted to be dissatisfied with my life and envious of others, leaving me feeling discontented. Forgive me, Lord. May I be reminded today of that most precious blessing that You will never leave me nor forsake me. Remind me today, Lord, that as part of Your Bride I am one of the most blessed people on earth. Help me to keep my priorities in order, not looking to things of the earth for contentment but to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

Praying through Hebrews 13:6

Heavenly Father, what an amazing privilege to be able to say that You are my helper. You are for me and not against me. You have saved me, indwelled me, and are interceding for me right now. How can I ever thank You, precious Lord, for Your indescribable blessings to me? May I never fear mortal man or live to please man. May I live to please You every day of my life, to Your eternal praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”

Praying through Hebrews 13:9

Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus. Thank You that He broke the power of sin and death and removed the curse of the law from all who have found their salvation in Him. Keep me from the varied and strange teachings that are invading our churches, and give me wisdom and discernment to know what is doctrinally unsound. Strengthen me by Your grace and prevent me from being drawn into any form of legalist teachings. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.”

Praying through Hebrews 13:12

Thank You heavenly Lord, for dying on the cross to pay the price for my sins. Thank You heavenly Father, for sending Your Son to be the acceptable Sacrifice for my sin and thank You that Jesus offered up His life willingly so that I can be made holy as God is holy. May I pour out my life in all I say and do so that my life may also become a sweet savour to You. Take my life and use me as You choose, to Your praise and glory, in Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
