Prayer for Ephesians 2

Praying through Ephesians 2:1

Heavenly Father, I praise You for Your wonderful grace that made me alive in Christ when I was dead in trespasses and sins and without hope in the world. I pray that Your Spirit will more and more open my understanding to this indescribable gift that I have been given. Make me bold in proclaiming the saving blood of Jesus to those that are born dead in their sins. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;”

Praying through Ephesians 2:2

Heavenly Father, thank You that I have been released from bondage to sin and death. Thank You that I have been set free from walking according to the course of this world. Thank You that I have been delivered from slavery to sin, the world, the flesh, and the devil. Thank You that I am no longer a son of disobedience and estranged from You, but that in Christ, the Spirit of God now works in me and is conforming me into the likeness of Your dearly beloved Son. May I live each day to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:”

Praying through Ephesians 2:3

Heavenly Father, how I praise and thank You for Your goodness and grace toward me. I pray that I may never forget the amazing grace that I received, in that while I was yet a sinner, fulfilling the desires of my mind and flesh, Christ died for me. Thank You that You have not judged me according to my own sin, for I would not stand the scrutiny of Your perfect righteousness, but Christ was judged in my place and punished for my sin. Just as He was identified with all my sin, so I am identified with His perfect righteousness, through time and into eternity, simply by trusting in Him. I pray that may I live the rest of my life, with a grateful heart of thanksgiving and praise. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.”

Praying through Ephesians 2:4

Heavenly Father, thank You that You are a God of love Who is rich in mercy toward me. Thank You that You loved me so much, You sent Your precious Son to die in my place and pay the price for my sins. Praise Your name forever and ever. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Ephesians 2:5

Heavenly Father, I scarce can take in the enormity and wisdom of Your plan for my salvation. What amazing grace, that has made me free from the power of sin and death and imputed to me the righteousness of Your Beloved Son. There is nothing I can do, except to thank You, dear Father. I pray that with my whole body, soul, and spirit, I may glorify You in all I am and all I do, through the power of the Holy Spirit and to the praise of Your holy name, AMEN.

“Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)”

Praying through Ephesians 2:6

Loving Father, what an honour and blessing that I am seated with Christ in heavenly places. I pray that as I view my life from my heavenly position, everything would be put into proper perspective. Help me to always set my mind on things above, rather than things on the earth. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Ephesians 2:9

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing me to a deeper understanding, that in myself there is no good thing that is acceptable to You in my Christian life. It is only by grace through faith in the work of the Son of God Who loved me and gave Himself for me, that makes me acceptable to You. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Praying through Ephesians 2:10

Loving Father, praise Your wonderful name that I am Your handiwork. Thank You that I was not saved by good works, but by grace through faith in Jesus. But thank You that I was saved unto good works, and so I pray my life would be lived to serve You wholeheartedly in the works You have prepared for me to do, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Ephesians 2:11

Heavenly Father, forgive me for the times when I have elevated myself above others, who may not have the same heritage, background, or understanding, that I have been granted. Thank You for making me who I am and thank You that every member in the body of Christ is equally important to You, and each has his own specific role to play. As I remember that formerly I was dead in my sins, at enmity with God, with an uncircumcised heart, and without hope in the world, I praise and thank You for the work You have done in MY life. Keep me humble before You and low at the Cross. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;”

Praying through Ephesians 2:12

Heavenly Father, I pray that You would keep in my remembrance, all the gifts and graces that have become mine, because of Your goodness and grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Who is that Seed of the woman, Who crushed the head of the serpent on Calvary's Cross. Thank You that I am no longer separated from You by sin, but have been positioned in Christ and clothed in His righteousness. Thank You that although I was excluded from being part of Your chosen nation, I have, by faith, been brought near to God and received a heavenly inheritance. Thank You that I am no longer a stranger to the New Covenant of promise, that was given to Israel and cut at Calvary, and thank You that Jesus is my Blessed Hope, gracious God and eternal Saviour, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

“That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:”

Praying through Ephesians 2:13

Heavenly Father, thank You that while I was still dead in my trespasses and sins and at enmity with You, Christ Jesus my Lord, died for me. Thank You that His blood paid the price for my sins and that by grace through faith in Him, I have been brought near to You, returned into covenant relationship with You, have been forgiven of my sins, and received the gift of eternal life. To You alone I offer my praise and worship. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Praying through Ephesians 2:14

Heavenly Father, thank You, that I have been made a new creation in Christ. Thank You for giving me the perfect, transcendent, peace of God, which is able to guard my heart and my mind. In Your grace and loving-kindness, You have broken down every barrier that divided Jew from Gentile, male from female, young from old, and made all believers one in Christ. May we who are Your Body, live together in perfect unity with grateful thanks for loving us so much that You sent Jesus to be our Prince of Peace. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Ephesians 2:15

Dear Lord, thank You that You loved us so much that You would willingly come to earth to suffer and die so that the effect of the Law might be nullified in the lives of all who trust in Your shed blood for salvation. Thank You that in Christ, I have peace with God and am no longer under the condemnation of the Law, and thank You that I have the peace of God in my heart. Help me to live a holy life to Your honour and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Ephesians 2:18

Heavenly Father, it is by the grace of God that I am what I am; a blood-bought child of God with free access into Your presence to find grace to help in time of need. Thank You that Christ paid the full price for my sin and willingly gave up His life so that I might live eternally. Thank You that today He is in heaven interceding for me, and thank You that I have Your indwelling Holy Spirit, giving me access to You every moment of the day. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Ephesians 2:20

Heavenly Father, how I praise and thank You that Jesus is my Saviour and the Chief Cornerstone of my faith, the stone that the builders rejected, and that, "Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder." Thank You that Your unchangeable and unchanging Word is the foundation upon which my faith must be anchored. Keep me ever watchful for the false teachings and doctrines of demons that are flooding the Church today and let me hold fast to that which is good, rightly dividing the Word of truth. Help me to stand firm in this evil day looking to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith, and the only secure foundation upon Whom I stand. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;”

Praying through Ephesians 2:21

Heavenly Father, thank You that I have been brought near by the blood of Christ and have been made one with Him, by means of His death, burial, and Resurrection. Thank You that You have brought together into one Body, all who have trusted Jesus as Saviour, and that we are all being built-up and fitted together as Your holy residence. Help me to walk worthy of my calling, and may You be glorified in all I say and do, until that glorious day when You come to take us to be with Yourself in the clouds of glory. Praise Your holy name, AMEN.

Praying through Ephesians 2:22

Heavenly Father, thank You that Christ is building His Church, stone by living stone, into a holy Temple of God. Thank You that I too have become part of it and have the indwelling Spirit of God as a guarantee. You started a good work in me, and I pray that You will continue to fashion, form, and transform me into the likeness of Christ, with every passing day. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
